Playbook
Playbook route trees
Trees are Outside, Inside, Backs, Center, and Quarterback. Each tree is its own list. Reorder inside the open tree. A new route writes into the tree you have selected. The drawing on the field is the route. The name on the tip is the book's name — 0 - Shallow, not a catalog key.
Finish
Finish is what the receiver does at the tip of the primary. It is not another name for the route.
- Run through — Keep speed on the last line. Do not throttle.
- Present — Stop, face the quarterback, and show the ball now.
- Settle — Throttle down and hold in the open void. Do not carry into coverage.
- Return — Come back toward the quarterback after the stem.
- Climb — Turn upfield after a horizontal or crossing path.
Options
An option is a second path leaving that same tip. It has its own call name. It is not a finish.
Break
Soft or hard on a corner is the break. There is no separate break-mechanic list.
