Playbook defense

FlagOS defense does not reuse offensive formations, route trees, or motion calls. A team begins with seven-body shells and separate responsibility objects. Teams own the words. FlagOS owns the structure.

Alignments

A shell is pre-snap geometry. Two High is not Cover 2. One High is not Man Free.

  • Two High — five underneath, two deep
  • One High — six underneath, one deep
  • Three High — four underneath, three deep
  • Man Shell — seven starting spots. Not an assignment-matching engine
  • Custom — blank field

Man Shell does not auto-match defenders to receivers. Match links are play-owned.

Coverages

Post-snap responsibility. Starters: Man, Man Free, Cover 2, Cover 3, Custom.

Rushes

Immediate quarterback pressure. Starters: No rush, Left rush, Right rush, Middle rush, Custom. No rush is a real object. Spy is not a rush.

Adjustments

Conditional rules: Lock motion, Bump motion, Bunch box, Trips check, QB Spy, Custom.

QB Spy: Mirror the quarterback/run threat. Do not attack immediately.

Calls

A defensive call is alignment + coverage + rush + optional adjustments. The coach display name can be Black Green. The expanded line stays One High · Man Free · Middle rush.
